The Yungang Grottoes are located in Datong City at the Shaxi province. This area is where you can find the hanging monastery. The Grottoes are around 1500 years old already and these are caves by the mountain side with a massive haul of Buddhist statues including a 56 foot Buddha. Datong is also the home of the oldest and tallest wooden pagoda in China.
