Prospects for the Evergreen Supertanker Include Oil Spill Cleanup
McMINNVILLE, OR, USAThe Evergreen Supertanker, a revolutionary aerial application tool based on a Boeing 747 platform, is about to embark on a demo tour this month prior to supporting fire fighting missions in the US this fire season. Details regarding the demo tour can be obtained from Evergreens corporate website: www.evergreenaviation.com.
The Supertankers versatile pressurized application system is capable of dispersing liquid, foam, and gel products in a safe and controlled manner from a series of variable outlet nozzles located just aft of the main wing. The Supertanker aircraft is part of Evergreens turnkey emergency response program that is capable of supporting a vast range of urgent missions worldwide, including the containment of massive oil spills.
"We believe the Supertankers versatile application system offers exceptional drop capabilities that establish a new standard for aerial application technologies," says Evergreen International Aviation Vice President Sam White. "The Supertanker is a multi-mission aircraft that is capable of supporting firefighting, weather modification, oil spill response, and biochemical decontamination emergency response missions worldwide."
The multi-role 747 Supertanker is the largest tanker aircraft available today. Its patent-pending pressurized system has the capability to disperse at high pressure for an overwhelming response, or drop at the speed of falling rain in single or several segmented drops.
Evergreen International Aviation, the parent company of OTC exhibitor Evergreen Helicopters, has more than 70 years of aerial application experience and nearly half a million hours of 747 operating experience. The company has invested three years and more than $40 million of its own funding to develop this next generation of aerial application aircraft.
