To manage and coordinate functions assigned in the performance of aircraft quality control inspection to ensure airworthiness of aircraft.

Essential Job Functions:
• Manages and coordinates functions of the Quality Control Department ensuring that all work performed complies with applicable technical data, FAA regulations and EAC policies and procedures and that the technical data and procedure manuals are reviewed, kept current and available.
• Ensures that all inspections are properly performed on completed work and that the proper inspection records, reports and forms used by the repair station are properly executed prior to the release of the product for return to service.
• Possesses and applies complete working knowledge of company Repair Station Procedures Manual and of Federal Aviation Regulations.
• Maintains and keeps current files of Federal Aviation Regulation specifications, type data sheets and airworthiness directives.
• Ensures that all technical data on articles overhauled or repaired by the repair station are kept current with the latest revisions including specialized services, manufacturers overhaul manuals, service bulletins, parts specifications, and related FAA approved data and other technical data used by the repair station.
• Maintains active liaison with the FAA on all aircraft inspections, technical reports and investigations.
• Ensures that the company’s Management Roster and Repair Station Procedure Manual are kept current.
• Studies and reviews production schedules and estimates worker-hour requirements for completion of job assignments. Adjusts work procedures as needed and recommends measures for improved efficiency.
• Develops operating objectives and staffing requirements.
• Ensures that the duties, responsibilities, and authority of each job are clearly defined, effective, and communicated to incumbents.
• Ensures that training and development needs are identified and programs initiated.
• Ensures that qualified personnel are selected and that the orientation and on-the-job training programs are conducted and effective.
• Develops an adequate plan for backup of personnel.
• Monitors performance of subordinates. Provides prompt and objective coaching and counseling. Conducts performance appraisals.
• Ensures optimum performance of the A&P Mechanics function. Recommends and implements techniques to improve productivity, increase efficiencies, cut costs, take advantage of opportunities, and maintain state of the art practices.
• Keeps abreast of current trends and practices in field of expertise.

Experience:
Five to ten years experience in aircraft inspection preferred.

Certificates/Licenses:
A&P License required. Valid Arizona drivers license required.


Education/Training:
High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelors Degree in Aviation Management or related discipline or equivalent combination of education, training or experience required.
